BBC announces shortlist of locations for North West move

The BBC has announced a shortlist of two sites for the relocation of some key departments from London to Greater Manchester in 2010. The sites are Quays Point – Pier 9 - at Salford Quays and the Central Spine of the Southern Gateway, an area of land between the Mancunian Way and Whitworth Street in Manchester.
Departments moving north are Children's BBC, including the TV channels CBBC and CBeebies; Children's Radio and Children's Learning; BBC Sport; BBC New Media and Technology and radio stations Five Live and Five Live Sports Extra.
