Tourism - Blackpool Tower, Blackpool

Tourism

Tourism is important to the North West economy and is identified as a priority growth sector by the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA). Government Office for the North West works with the Northwest Development Agency and the region’s five tourist boards to promote and support tourism in the region.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) champions good quality service for tourists, from both the UK and overseas. The Department encourages and helps the tourism industry to improve what it has to offer, with Government Offices supporting tourism initiatives to maintain the health of the tourism industry in each region.
