Government Office for the North West works closely with English Heritage and is a member of the North West Historic Environment Forum. English Heritage is the public body responsible for protecting historic buildings and promoting awareness of the importance of heritage. English Heritage operates a number of different funding programmes and acts as one of the Heritage Lottery Fund’s key advisory bodies.

Museums, Libraries and Archives North West


Government Office works closely with Museums, Libraries and Archives (MLA) North West on the negotiation of Local Area Agreements and on the pilot Investing in Talent Programme.
 
MLA North West exists to champion the museums, libraries and archives sector in the North West, in order to raise profile and increase investment.
