A Regional Cultural Consortium (RCC) has been established in each of the English regions outside London. The London Cultural Consortium is not one of the DCMS Regional Cultural Consortiums that are being replaced in other English regions.

Culture Northwest is a thinking, networking and advocating organisation responsible for implementing the regional cultural strategy and ensuring that culture is integrating and contributing to other regional strategies. It acts as a catalyst for the region’s cultural sector including arts, creative industries, heritage, libraries, tourism and sport. It drives new ideas and policy, conducts research, arranges conferences, champions fresh partnerships and celebrates the exceptional.
Government Office has worked closely with Culture North West and other stakeholders to establish the North West Cultural Observatory which brings together information and evidence about the impacts of the cultural sector.
Culture North West is driving forward plans for the 4 year cultural year Olympic cultural festival in the North West. Government Office is a member of the steering group supporting this work
