Hate Crime

Government Office for the North West is supporting Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnerships to develop local Hate Crime Action Plans to tackle hate crime.

Hate crimes are crimes in which the victim, or any other person, perceives the crime to have been motivated by hostility or prejudice based on disability, race, religion and belief, sexual orientation or whether someone is transgender.

If you are a victim of hate crime or know someone who is, please contact the Police in your area:

We do understand however that it is sometimes difficult to go to the police about hate crime,  there are also third-party reporting schemes which allow victims to report a hate crime to the police anonymously or confidentially via a third party, like a community group or website, including:

Victim Support
Equality and Human Rights Commission
Citizens Advice Bureau
True Vision
Stonewall
Stop Hate UK
VOICE UK
